Benedict
Short Film Project
Benedict is a short, under one minute film idea that I developed early on in my animation learning. It is themed on a video game and simulated hopefully how it would feel to do animation for games production cutscenes or trailers.
I worked on scene creation and lighting for the film, with partial bits of animation. At this stage I also incorporated motion captured animations into the film, applying them to the model alongside hand animated elements.
I used models from online to allow myself to focus on scene creation and animation for a project and this allowed me to complete the short film and submit it to a movie of the week competition.
Planning
I created a drawn storyboard to work from, I also bounced the idea around my peers to get feedback and further develop into something I could make. I decided to focus on animation, lighting and camera work in this film as I usually put a lot of timetowads modelling. It was a good exercise in creating cinematic work and gave me useful skills in camera work that i would use for my later films, 'Seize the Cheese' and 'Freshly Baked'.
